Women’s recreational/beginner 3-on-3 hockey league in Oakville, Ontario
Established in 2010, the WFSA is a fun, family oriented softball experience, where players, managers and fans can again be involved in the game they love, Fast-pitch softball. The WFSA is not about signing a Pro contract, but developing friends and a community of women softball players who feel blessed to still have the ability and opportunity to play the game they love. It’s not about being paid to play, but about the opportunity to compete and play the game hard, and to earn a win or a championship through a combined effort of other individuals who love the game and are blessed to still be able to play. If you are one of these players, where it is more important to play for the love of the game, for friendships, and to compete for the honor of the game, then WFSA is a place for you!
The WFSA is organized nationally into divisions categorized by age. The divisions are as follows: 18 and over, 28 and over, 38 and over, 48 and over.
Where participation levels permit, leagues are divided into two or more competitive divisions. These divisions are then classified by experience level.
The advanced level (AAA) typically is for players who have 3-4 years of college and/or higher level experience. The intermediate level (AA) is generally for the players with high school or some college experience. The recreational level (A) is generally for the players with high experience or some experience in high school. Additionally, the rookie level (R) provides an opportunity for players whose love of the game perhaps exceeds their level of experience.
This divisional structure provides a level field for each player – regardless of experience and ability level. The WFSA seeks to foster a competitive environment that is challenging and fun for all involved.
